Cost-effective care

Our focus is always on looking after your pets like we do our own.  To do this, we need to ensure that the products, services, machinery and equipment that we use are effective and fully functioning.

We are an independent veterinary practice and therefore don’t have a large infrastructure or facilities management teams to call upon if things go wrong or project manage changes.  We believe that by using local firms, they enable us to give you, our clients, the best service we can.  We get to know our regular suppliers and any firms we use for ad-hoc services, and they get to know us.  We are all one big team.

If we have a problem with our computers, for example, we need a quick response to our call for help.  PriorityIT, based in Westbury, ensure that our systems are maintained, optimised and monitored for any viruses or malware.  They always respond to requests swiftly to ensure that we remain open.

When we need building work completed, we understand that it may cause disruption, so we want to use firms that we know and who understand how we work, enabling us to minimise any disruption to our clients.  We don’t feel that larger, national firms have the same levels of empathy and understanding.  When we started out at Corsham we used Tremlett and Turner, shop-fitters from Bristol.  They did such a good job that we used them again for our Chippenham clinic.

For a veterinary practice, practicality and professionalism go hand in hand.  Our uniforms, for example, not only help us to look smart, but they are also practical, too.  We purchase these from Michael Hope Embroidery and Printing in Box.  Our stationery, leaflets and flyers are also essential to portray our professionalism.  These are printed by Corsham Print (who are based on the Leafield Industrial Estate) and Townsend Design and Print in Chippenham.

On a day-to-day basis, we like to support our local business colleagues, too.  We regularly use local bakeries and shops for our lunches, snacks and office supplies, for example.  We also use local venues for our team get-togethers, too, such as Amore in Corsham and The Wine Monkey in Chippenham.

Other key local firms and businesses who help us in a variety of ways:

Goughs Solicitors; The Little Kitchen; Digiprint; Parsons; Paula Harsley – wordsmith; May’s Greengrocers; Twigs and Willow and whilst it was trading, Iris used to purchase her shoes from If the Shoe Fits in Corsham, too.

It is not always possible to purchase specialist equipment, medication or veterinary supplies locally, but where we can, we do.  This includes the doggy ice cream which we sell, which is sourced from Marshfield Ice Cream.

We are proud to be an independent veterinary practice, and as a local firm ourselves, we believe that we should support other local, and often independent, businesses, too.
