Iris Kestemont

Vet

Iris has been a vet since 2002.  She has worked from Aberdeenshire to Wiltshire in various farm, equine and management roles as well as  having huge experience of working with companion animals (pets).  She wanted to start a local, independent practice which would offer a more personable service.  Peacock Vets was therefore ‘born’ in March 2021.  She believes that pets are part of your family and is passionate about ensuring that the entire team look after your pets in the same way as you do whilst they are in the care of Peacock Vets.

Staff Q&A

Get to know our staff with some quickfire questions.

Q. What is your favourite animal?

A. Peacocks? Cats are great too and I have a soft spot for syrian hamsters

Q. Do you have pets at home?

A. I have a cat called Sox, who is a big softie and an all white cat called Branigan. Branigan is very cheeky and teaching Sox some bad habits. Sadly the russian tortoise called Vladimir (or Vlad for short), has passed away

Q. What is the most extraordinary animal you have treated/worked with?

A. I worked in a zoo in Brazil and worked with elephants, chimpanzees, iguanas, snakes and many more

Q. What do you love most about working in a vet practice.

A. Making a nervous patient feel comfortable and lots of furry cuddles

Our trusted reviews.

Highly recommend. Friendly and helpful, both the reception staff and vet. Competitive prices too. Helped us out with an AHC for travel to France at short notice along with medication. Will be our 1st choice vet from now on. Thank you!

Mabel's favourite vets ever. Fantastic pet plan and great teef after her dental treatment. Arnie likes it too! 🐾🐾

We take our cat to see Veerle the holistic vet who practices out of the surgery. Veerle is excellent and the staff at the surgery are so lovely. Great!

Excellent local vets. Easy to make appointments, good veterinary care and reasonable costs.

Have taken our Maine coons here since babies and the staff are really caring and helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble

Well-run vet's surgery with experienced and knowledgeable staff. How lovely to support an independent vet, rather than a huge company with inflated costs and huge overheads!

Fabulous service, Iris and her team are lovely. Very caring and welcoming. Our dog Teddy is quite nervous when visiting the vets but they go above and beyond to make the experience a good one. Would highly recommend.

Really great team, been fantastic with our pup. They actively encourage 'happy visits' in order to get your dog to have positive association with going to the vet which really helps when our little dude isn't much of a fan of needles.
